Dear Westra Family and Friends
November 25, 2006
Hi everyone. Last Saturday I had a surprise date for Casandra. We went
over to our friends Lyle and Jan Chamberlain in Ephraim for a dinner,
and to see their finished sunroom. Wow, what a beautiful room! We also
talked about Jan’s ebook on metabolism and ideas for websites and
keywords and such.
Conner did our family home evening on Monday on Gratitude. He got out
the packet and told the story about Tom the Turkey and everything.
Tuesday we all went out to eat at Subway, and then dropped off Conner
and Kadan at their last merit badge Pow Wow. They both will get a few
merit badges. Conner has been learning about electricity, and Kadan has
learned more about local news for one of his badges.
We finished our long book about “The Time and Space of Uncle Albert”,
which has been really fun. The author is Russell Stannard and he has
three more books in the Uncle Albert series, which I will want to read
to them also.
Wednesday Casandra took Conner and Kadan down to Richfield for their
Statesmanship Club. They discussed the book Animal Farm and the
implications and messages. I took Corin and Camden on a “date” to get
our turkey up north, and we also went to the Good Earth and bought
supplies and some dinner for their date. Corin kept me talking for a
long time! That boy is so smart and loves to visit.
Thursday was Thanksgiving Day and we basically just stayed home. Conner
and Casandra prepared food all day. We ate in the evening and invited
over a man in our Ward who we knew would be alone for Thanksgiving. Our
boys were so excited to have someone over, and he was very grateful.
Celeste stopped by Friday to visit us from Cedar City, and we will see
her again at Christmas Time. Josh came over in the morning and we worked
on web stuff for an hour and a half.
When picking up our turkey, they had a book for sale called Nourishing
Traditions, by Sally Fallon, which I’ve heard good things about and been
wanting to get. So I bought it there and have been enjoying it. It has
some similar ideas to my Harmony
Earth Diet, such as eating the highest quality foods available,
creating relationships with local food providers, eating whole and
natural foods, and using time-tested traditional recipes.
Speaking of traditional recipes, see my Wisdom Light Chicken Soup Recipe
on my new Light is Real Site (below). We also used the recipe to “cook
down” the rest of the turkey, and get to eat that tonight! Here is the
recipe:

to help budding entrepreneurs around the world at the
microenterprise fund.
Last night we watched a family video about Buckminster Fuller and his
ideas. The boys and I also bought an education toy from his site called
the Zome Tool. The boys have been creating geodesic domes and all kinds
of crystalline shapes. Casandra is up North today helping her Mom. She
took Kadan for a date so I’m having a boy’s day with Corin, Camden, and
Conner.
Have a super week as you prepare for Christmas Time. Feel the Love and
the Light!
