Dear Westra Family and Friends October 6, 2006
Today we are heading up the wedding shower for Derek and Danielle in Salt Lake. Grandma and Grandpa will have the four older boys for overnight (after the shower). We just bought a Toyota Van, but it doesn’t have the inspection, and we can’t get wiper blades right now, so we have to borrow a vehicle one more time from our neighbors the Hyatts.
Last Monday Casandra did family home evening, and we shared some items she had saved on the computer. Tuesday Conner and Kadan went to their Statesmanship Club down in Richfield and each of them gave an oral report. That’s good practice for them. Conner said he was sweating.
Wednesday evening Casandra and I had a couples video night, watching The New World, about John Smith and Pocahontas. Conner and Kadan went and ran the mile for their Young Men activity. They both beat their former time, and ran the mile in about nine minutes.
Last night Cayson was laying in bed but still awake, and Camden went and sang to him, “I will love you forever and ever, and I will be careful with you forever and ever, and when you are older I will share my toys with you.” How precious. Cayson loved it also, we think those two are special friends.
Camden came in excitedly the other day remarking, “It is fall! It is fall!” He saw a bunch of the peach tree leaves blown down on the driveway, and that signified to him that it really is fall. He’s still getting some words mixed up. He calls his knees his “elbows” and the other day said, “Cayson scratched me with his toenail” but he meant fingernail.
Camden loves grabbing things now. I put a big heavy green book in front of him and he slowly leaned over to grab it. He was just touching the flat side and couldn’t grab anything, but his little fingers kept trying. We were all laughing at him.
For home school reading, we finished the first volume of “History of US”, which is very early U.S. history, and also just finished “Only the Names Remain”, about the Cherokee Removal, the Trail of Tears.
I’ve been enjoying reading a book called The Peacegiver, which includes modern and ancient stories about the meaning of the Atonement. I’ve also been reading my book on Search Engine Optimization – An Hour a Day, and learning so much.
Christopher, Casandra, Conner, Kadan, Corin, Camden, and Cayson.
Chris’s Ebooks and Marketing Work
Carol Tuttle has invited me to speak at her Making More Money Boot Camp in a couple of weeks, for 45 minutes as a guest speaker. So I’m working up some stories, principles, and presentation ideas.
I can do live presentations, even though it isn’t my preferred method for much of my time. I will enjoy the opportunity, and it is a very targeted audience – of about 200.
I sold in Guatemala this week, making my 110th country. My tell a friend site has been coming along, and Josh and I are working hard to get the code all working. The site will create tell a friend scripts for others, and also provide the functionality behind the scripts, which takes a bit of programming!
A heads up on tell a friend forms
Tell a friend forms bring great traffic to your website. I've been using them for a while, and now I'm running some tests for tracking purposes.
Word of mouth marketing is the most powerful of all!
Unfortunately, many tell a friend services out there don't really work that well. So I'm building my own - and you can use it for free.
There are some paid services on the internet, and a few free tell a friend script providers.
Here's the new site I'm building that will provide the tell a friend
services.
Tell a Friend Form
Right now it has some links to some of the top services. Go ahead and try them out, and bookmark the site for later. My partner Josh and I are working hard on producing our own tell a friend script creator. We will put it on that site.
I want it to be simpler and more useful than any of those out there.
Christopher
P.S. I've had over 12,000 people refer friends to my sites from my tell a friend forms.
You can see a simple form in action here on my illusion page:
