Time and Space of Uncle Albert

Dear Westra Family and Friends November 11, 2006

Hi Everyone - Last Saturday we went up north for a whole day of wedding festivities for Derek and Danielle. We dropped off all five boys at Danielle’s parent’s home (just blocks from the temple) and then went to the ceremony at 11:00. The room was packed. Then we picked up the boys and went shopping and then back to the wedding breakfast at 2:00 at Thanksgiving Point. Then we did some more errands and then the Reception was at 6:00.

Last Friday we had a family movie night, watching Love’s Enduring Promise, based on the book by Janette Oke. This was a sequel to Love Comes Softly. We highly recommend both!

The boys and I have been reading The Time and Space of Uncle Albert, a children’s book about thought experiments that turn real, and the theory of relativity and what some of the meanings are. I listened to the book on tape years ago when I used to commute, and have wanted to read it with the boys for years.

For our two “colloquium” reading groups Casandra and I are involved in we are reading The Education of a Wandering Man, which is an autobiography of Louis LaMour, and Crunchy Cons, about atypical conservatives who support family and earth and values and not just greed and economic “free market” big business.

Sunday evening we carved our pumpkins, even though it was after Halloween. Our family home evening on Monday was about the candidates for the election the next day, and about how to choose those who support our values and positions.

Tuesday I went to my chiropractic appointment in Richfield, and the boys had Statesmanship Club in the same city. So I picked Kadan and Conner up after and we went to the Manti Temple with the Young Men and Young Women of the ward and did baptisms for the dead. Then I took the boys straight to their merit badge pow wow after that so it was a busy day for them.

Wednesday we had pack meeting. Casandra was in charge of the activity and the cubmaster called me and asked if I would conduct, so we were both involved and took the entire family that night.

I ordered and received a brochure about the Hawaiian Island of Molokai, and enjoyed browsing through it. I also want to be by family so I’m not making any firm decisions, but I sure like dreaming, and would love to be in a warmer place where I could mountain run every day in mild weather and also enjoy the slower lifestyle.

Cayson has his first tooth – at age 4 ½ months! I think that is about the earliest we have had. He isn’t quite crawling but is getting his knees under him and starting to think about it.

Some of the family went to see Fiddler on the Roof on Thursday night and some on Friday night. Casandra took all the boys to see the play Thoroughly Modern Milly in Manti during the day on Friday with the home school group. Our boys stay so busy, we just laugh when people think they never interact with others because they are “home schooled.”

Tonight we are taking Conner to the potluck and discussion about Education of a Wandering Man.

I did another long interview with Anthony Treas from Activate Your Potential on Monday, and then a short one on with Leo Quinn on Wednesday.

This week I passed one million visitors to a single web page – the main page on my I Create Reality site. They all just keep growing and growing.

Here is another great web movie to watch.
